Rediscovering Paris Through New Eyes

We returned to Paris in 2026 because our daughter had always wanted to visit the City of Light. She dreamed of climbing the Eiffel Tower, savoring delicious French cuisine, exploring the Louvre, taking a cruise along the Seine, admiring Notre-Dame, and, of course, spending a magical day at Disneyland.

Once again, we visited in April, which is one of the best months for a city break. The weather is usually pleasant, and the city comes alive with the colors of spring.

This trip was especially meaningful to us because, for the first time, we had the pleasure of being our daughter’s guides as she discovered Paris through her own eyes.

The Eiffel Tower is undoubtedly one of Paris’s most iconic landmarks. It was designed by Gustave Eiffel for the 1889 World’s Fair, held to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the French Revolution.

As evening falls, the tower begins to glow, and its sparkling lights create one of the most magical sights in the city.

What many people don’t know is that when it was first built, many Parisians, including artists and intellectuals, strongly opposed it, believing it would spoil the city’s beauty. Today, it has become one of the most beloved symbols of Paris. 😊

The Eiffel Tower is also home to two restaurants, and we had the pleasure of enjoying lunch at Madame Brasserie. Delicious food, wonderful views, and a unique setting made it a truly memorable experience.

The Louvre Museum

Home to one of the world’s largest and most impressive art collections, with more than 38,000 works spanning centuries of history, the Louvre is much more than a museum: it’s a journey through time.

Returning to the Louvre is always special, but this visit felt even more meaningful because we experienced it together as a family.

The museum itself is a work of art. Beyond the world-famous masterpieces, the building is breathtaking in its own right. Every grand hall, painted ceiling, and ornate detail tells a story and adds to the magic of the experience.

Our daughter was absolutely fascinated, especially by the Egyptian collection and the paintings of the Old Masters. She happily waited in line to see the Mona Lisa up close, a painting that continues to captivate millions of visitors from around the world.

Because travel isn’t about checking places off a list, it’s about expanding your horizons.

It’s not about seeing everything. It’s about feeling something.

Travel teaches lessons no classroom ever can. It sparks curiosity, broadens perspectives, and creates memories that stay with you long after you return home.

For me, one of the greatest joys is sharing those experiences with my child and giving her a glimpse of the incredible world beyond her everyday life. 🥰

Alongside the Eiffel Tower, the Arc de Triomphe stands as one of the most recognizable symbols of Paris.

Located at Place Charles de Gaulle, it honors those who fought and died for France during the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars. Built between 1806 and 1836, it remains one of the city’s most important historical landmarks.

Yet Paris is about so much more than its famous monuments. The city’s charm lies equally in its elegant 19th-century architecture: creamy stone façades, tall shuttered windows, intricate wrought-iron balconies, and zinc rooftops dotted with countless chimneys.

Walking through Paris often feels like strolling through a living architectural masterpiece.

The Seine River

Flowing gracefully through the heart of Paris, the Seine reveals some of the city’s most beautiful landmarks, historic bridges, and timeless architecture.

Notre-Dame Cathedral

Construction of Notre-Dame Cathedral began in 1163 and was completed in 1345, making it one of the finest masterpieces of French Gothic architecture.

Following the devastating fire of April 2019, an extraordinary restoration effort brought this beloved landmark back to life. Today, Notre-Dame once again welcomes visitors and worshippers from around the world.

We first visited Notre-Dame in 2011, but returning now felt especially meaningful.

Seeing this magnificent Gothic beauty rise again is about much more than architecture. It is a powerful story of resilience, history, faith, and timeless beauty.

Gourmet Moments in Paris

No trip to Paris would feel complete without indulging in its incredible culinary delights.

Our daughter is a devoted cheese lover, so the moment fondue came up, it instantly made its way onto her Paris wish list.

Fondue is a traditional dish made from melted cheese, served warm in a communal pot, with pieces of bread dipped into the rich, creamy mixture. Comforting, indulgent, and beautifully simple, it quickly became one of our favorite meals of the trip. At the restaurant, we also tried escargots with spinach and the classic French onion soup — both excellent starters that perfectly captured traditional French flavors.

We enjoyed it at Saveur de Savoie on Rue Mouffetard in the Latin Quarter.

One of the oldest streets in Paris, with roots stretching back over 2,000 years to Roman times, it still preserves a wonderfully authentic, village-like atmosphere filled with cafés, markets, and local charm.

We also enjoyed a light and elegant lunch aboard a restaurant boat near Pont Alexandre III. There, we were served a selection of French cheeses, a refreshing ham and melon salad, and finished with delicate macarons.

Beneath the spectacular glass dome of Galeries Lafayette Haussmann, Parisian elegance comes to life through light, color, and stunning architectural symmetry.

Even if shopping isn’t on your agenda, this iconic department store is worth visiting simply to admire its breathtaking interior.

Rediscovering Paris through our daughter’s eyes reminded us that familiar places can still feel entirely new. The memories we created together made this trip even more special than our previous visits. Paris once again left us with hearts full of gratitude, joy, and a desire to return.
